Tweet Tweet

Yea yea yea I know twitter is garbage, but I finally bit the bullet & got an account. Don't worry I won't be tweeting every time I go to the bathroom - I'll be posting music updates over there so feel free to follow if you'd like to stay in the loop!

Also, if you haven't peeped the new website - check it out! I'll be hosting the 2 Raw podcasts over there from now on...

& of course the most important announcement of all is that a new EP will be dropping digitally very early into 2011. It's gonna feature Junclassic & Jondis on the mic as usual along with 5 instrumentals. The tracks are from '09 & follow a specific theme that's very cinematic & perfect for the winter. Other projects are in post-production as well, but this will be the first to drop. More details soon...

Peace everybody! Been a minute since the last update. I've been working on lots of new material since the release of Drum Machines Have No Soul & will provide more details on this in the near future. I've got a lot of ill stuff lined up for you guys!

Until then, check out this dope new compilation put together by my man Cory over at Sassbologna Records! It features 19 tracks by some of the label's artists, including myself. The two tracks I contributed to the project are previously unreleased so definitely drop some feedback with your thoughts!

The compilation's purpose is to a) provide quality music to the people who seek it and b) to raise funds to get the Sassbologna website back up & running. This being said, definitely check it out, tell your friends, & if you have a blog or a website, please pass this info along.

Last Fat Beats Trip Ever

Had a chance last week to fly down to NYC & kick it with Junclassic. You know we had to hit Fat Beats! If for some strange reason you didn't know they were closing the stores this weekend than read this.

I guess it's a sign of the times, but damn it hurts music. I wrote a long piece about the effects of the digital age, but decided to keep it light for this blog.

Anyway, it was dope as always to chill with Jun & I also got to meet the legendary DJ Eclipse for the first time. I could go on all day about the food, the women & the overall energy that NYC has to offer, but I'll just say peace to Fat Beats for now.

New MPC Video & Updates...

First off - huge thanks to everybody who supported "Drum Machines Have No Soul" in any way. It has been receiving positive reviews & enjoying some underground radio play at the moment which is dope. Peace to all the blogs & websites that posted it & a special thanks to those who donated to the project. I'll be dropping 10% of the funds to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at the end of the month.

Also, big up to everyone who downloaded the EP! We really appreciate the support & hope that you guys will continue to spread the word to others. Some people have been asking about the instrumentals - I might drop those in a couple of weeks. A new 2 Raw vinyl mix will be up in a few days as well.

There are still some of the Never Sleep II limited edition purple cassette tapes for sale here. The next 2 orders will receive a complimentary Sassbologna Beat Sampler CD with their purchase!

Last but definitely not least - if you haven't had a chance to peep the new interview I did with beat the brakes off yo ass, you can read it here. Lots of discussion about record digging habits & some pictures of the new Bee Hive as well. Special thanks to Gorge Foreman for the dope interview.

10% of DMHNS $ Going to Charity

What up everybody? With the recent increase in support I wanted to say thank you to everybody for listening to my music & spreading the word. Knowing that you guys enjoy what I'm doing provides a lot of inspiration to keep it coming. Drum Machines Have No Soul is just the beginning! New instrumental & vocal projects, vinyl mixes, random videos and a lot more will be popping up in the coming weeks & months.

If you've been following for a while now you know you're not gonna hear a gun shot in any of my songs. I'm not on some get money shit. I would eventually like to team up with legit charities & do performances & projects to raise money for good causes.

For now I just want to encourage people to peep St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. I'm going to donate 10% of the money made from Drum Machines Have No Soul to them.

They're doing some serious work to help children with cancer. If you've had a loved one with this type of disease then you know where I'm coming from. This is the only place of its kind in the US that doesn't turn people way because of an inability to pay. That's no joke.

I did a lot of background checking before I made this post & they are one of the few legit places out there & one that I want to support. & yo this is not an advertisement so don't get it twisted!

Peace & thanks for the support!

The album will be available digitally & will be a "name your own price" ordeal. This means you don't have to pay a cent if you can't or don't want to (no hard feelings) & if you do than the support is more than appreciated as it helps me to continue to do what I do.

UnderCurrent = Junclassic & IV the Polymath

Last May I sent some beats to Junclassic & we did a couple of songs together. 14 months, a few trips to NYC & a bunch of songs later we decided to call ourselves UnderCurrent & are currently working on a full length project called "Spectrum."

To tide you over until then, we've decided to drop a freebie called "Beats From the East."

Spread the word!
